Hero Haiku

This term we have been learning about poetry.  One style of poetry we have learned about are haikus.  To write a successful haiku, there needs to be 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line and 5 again in the last line.  Here are some examples we wrote about our heroes:

My dad is the best.
My dad is nice and loves me.
I love my dad lots.
By Anton

Savannah is cool.
She helps me when I'm hurt.
I love my sister.
By Phoenix

Mum cares about me.
She helps me when I need help.
She puts me to bed.
By Amy.

I love my mummy.
My mum is helpful and kind.
My mum cooks me food.
By Xavier.

My dad is called Tim.
I love my dad more than food.
My dad loves me too!
By Briar.

Kid pix pictures of our heroes to come!

  1. Great haiku Room 10. Have your parents read these yet? I wonder.... if you had left your own names off, would your parents recognise themselves? It sounds to me like your parents have some very lovely children.
Look forward to seeing your pictures now
