Spring Tapestries

Here are some of our finished spring tapestries. Once the border had been sewn, we went stick hunting and found a stick to thread through the material at the top of our tapestry. Then we plaited wool, using colours that would compliment our work, and tied it to the stick to give us something to hang our tapestries with. Next we took them outside and placed them in natural surroundings. We took photos of our tapestries in three different locations and then chose the best photo. Watch the clip to see the results!

Term 4!

Welcome to Term 4 in Room 8! We are back for the last term of the year and are very excited about all the things we are going to learn this term. Check out the movie to see what we will be learning.

Measurement: Taller and Shorter

For maths, we have been drawing Kid Pix pictures showing at least two things, one tall and one short. We could choose to draw anything we wanted. Some people chose to draw shapes, others drew flags, and Toby even drew dinosaurs! Watch the movie to see our amazing pictures, and don't forget to leave us a comment if you think we got it right!

Why is Barack Obama important?

Barack Obama is important because he is the president of the United States.

Barack Hussein Obama is the President of the United States of America. He is a man who was named after his father and in 1992 he married a Lady called Michelle. They had two kids called Malia and Sasha who lived their whole lives in Chicago until they moved to the white house.

First Barack Obama was a lawyer and then he became State Senator for the state of Illonois. On February 11 2007, he said he would run for president of the United States. Then lots of people all over the country voted for Obama and after they counted the votes they knew who won: it was Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is important because he is the first African American President that the United States has ever had. He is the 44th president.

Jump Jam Inside: Blame it on the boogie

Guess what? Today Room 8 did Jump Jam inside! It was amazing. I couldn't even believe we were doing it. It was the best thing that happened since Term 3 started. It was so fun I even thought I'd burst. That's how fun it was. It was raining outside so we stayed in the warm, dry classroom. We did the Coconut song and Blame it on the boogie. Reflecting on Term 2 - What we have learned

Today we have been reflecting our our Term 2 learning. We brainstormed ideas of all the different topics we have learned about, and all the different things we learned in those topics. Then we went away and wrote about our favourite thing that we have learned this term. Here are the first half of Room 8 to share their learning, look out for the second half tomorrow!

Team Jack's Popcorn Procedure

This is our final Popcorn Procedure, by Jack, Maya, Inaise and Ernie. They chose to use a still camera to take photos of pictures they drew by hand.

First we drew the pictures and then decided on the order. We all took turns at taking photos of our drawings. Then we put the photos into imovie and did a voiceover to say what was happening. We decided that we didn't want any music so that our instructions would be the most important thing. Please comment on our movie!
